Men Win Orange & Black Classic! |

The men's team, Purdue Black, lead by Senior Captain Luke Matthys, took home 1st place this past weekend at the Orange & Black Classic held in Beavercreek, OH on October 18th and 19th. Matthys fired a 6-game total of 1242 to lead the Boiler bowlers to a 2nd seed in qualifying. During matchplay the team beat Vincennes 3-1, Saginaw Valley State 3-2, and leading qualifier Lindenwood Gold 3-1 to capture the title. The Purdue Gold team also had a strong tournament by finishing 15th out of 38 teams. The Purdue Gold team was lead by freshman, Joel Klaas, who finished 5th overall with a 6-game total of 1268 which earned him All-Tournament Team honors. The Purdue women continued on their successful ways as well by finishing in the top 10 for the second straight tournament. After a rough first day the ladies found themselves in 14th place, but battled back in the Baker block to narrowly miss matchplay and end up with a 9th place finish. The Lady Boiler bowlers were lead by Senior Captain Lisa Hunt who had a 6-game total of 1101. For more coverage of the tournament click here. |

The Purdue Bowling Team got off to a good start with the women's team finishing 5th out of 29 teams and the men's team finishing 9th out of 43 teams at the Hammer Midwest Collegiate Championships. The tournament was held on October 4th and 5th in Waukesha, WI. Leading the women was Lisa Hunt with a 192.56 average for 9 games and leading the men was Luke Matthys with a 200.33 average.
